Workforce Development

Workforce Development

Community Progress Council’s Workforce Development coaches focus on participants’ strengths while helping clients to identify internal motivations to promote success in the workforce.

Our coaches help participants learn problem-solving skills so they can help themselves to build a plan that promotes ownership and commitment. While working on identifying and overcoming barriers, participants may pursue skills, training and educational opportunities.

Community Progress Council’s Workforce Development program regularly offers workshops and classes to residents of York County and include topics such as certified nursing assistant (CNA), job fair and job search preparation, as well as other literacy and language proficiency courses.

Who Qualifies for Workforce Development Coaching?

Participants are referred to this program by the Department of Human Services and are currently receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). Individuals with limited employability who have unsuccessfully attempted other programs or would best be served by programs offered at Community Progress Council may qualify.
