Housing And Financial Education

Community Progress Council’s housing and financial counselors work with individuals of all income levels to help them meet their financial goals – whether it’s preparing to rent, purchasing their first home or building a savings.

Counselors often work with clients to understand their rights as renters, improve their credit, develop a family budget, navigate the complex process of becoming a homeowner, or avoid foreclosure.

Counselors host workshops monthly to educate consumers on renting, homeownership and financial literacy; and also work one-on-one with individuals through counseling. See upcoming workshops on our Events page.

Our counselors are extensively trained, certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and are here to help you gain the knowledge and skills to become financially empowered and meet your housing goals.

Funding support is provided in part by PNC Bank and the PNC Foundation, Santander Bank, and the Memorial Health Fund, an affiliate of the York County Community Foundation.
