Housing And Financial Education
Community Progress Council’s housing and financial counselors work with individuals of all income levels to help them meet their financial goals – whether it’s preparing to rent, purchasing their first home or building a savings.
Counselors often work with clients to understand their rights as renters, improve their credit, develop a family budget, navigate the complex process of becoming a homeowner, or avoid foreclosure.
Counselors host workshops monthly to educate consumers on renting, homeownership and financial literacy; and also work one-on-one with individuals through counseling. See upcoming workshops on our Events page.
Our counselors are extensively trained, certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and are here to help you gain the knowledge and skills to become financially empowered and meet your housing goals.
Program funding support is provided in part by PNC Bank, Santander Bank, and Traditions Bank.
Through education and/or one-on-one counseling, our HUD-certified counselors help you understand the rental process and prepare you for the rights and responsibilities of renting.
Get help to set and reach your financial goals! Counselors are here to support you in developing a spending plan, improving your credit, and starting or growing your savings.
HUD-certified counselors offer workshops and one-on-one counseling to prepare homebuyers for sustainable homeownership, and also offer face-to-face counseling for those in the foreclosure process.
