COMBINED “Take Charge of Your Money” and “Ready, Set Own” Pathway to Homeownership workshops
Community Progress Council now offers its “Pathway to Homeownership” course in two segments, beginning first with the “Take Charge of Your Money” financial literacy class and followed with “Ready, Set, Own,” a more in-depth review of the homebuying process. This November 18 workshop is a unique offering where both parts one and two will be COMBINED.
These homebuyer education workshops, approved by the Pennsylvania Housing & Finance Agency (PHFA), aim to help those interested in purchasing their first home by providing the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the complex process.
“Take Charge of Your Money” helps participants set and reach their financial goals. Whether you want to build savings, improve your credit, or become a homeowner, our financial counselors are here to help you gain the knowledge and skills to become financially empowered.
“Pathway to Homeownership” workshops cover topics including fair housing, predatory lending, credit reports and scores, available mortgage assistance programs, choosing a Realtor and lender, homeowners’ insurance, closing and settlement process, and more.
This workshop will be offered in English, in person at the CPC administration building, 226 E. College Avenue, York, PA 17403. For more information or to register to attend a session, please call (717) 846-4600 or email housing@yorkcpc.org.
