Community Centers are located throughout York County and serve urban and rural residents who are low- to moderate-income. Emergency services are provided in the heart of the neighborhood. Food, clothing, heat, shelter, and other basic needs can be met here.
Another exciting aspect of Community Centers is their commitment to assessing and addressing problems that lead to poverty. Volunteer opportunities are always available at our Community Centers. There is a Community Center near you...

Henrietta Cook is the Program Director for the Department of Community Centers. Funding for our programs is varied. Individuals and utility companies provide money. The United Way of York County pays for some of our intake workers' salaries and other costs. The Department of Public Welfare supports the home energy assistance program. Most of our staff salaries and project costs are covered by the PA Department of Community and Economic Development. The outreach center in Delta is staffed through a Community Development Block Grant.
