What
is WIC?
WIC is a program funded by the Federal Government. It helps
provide healthy supplemental foods and nutritional services
for pregnant women, postpartum and breastfeeding women,
infants and children under the age of five.
The goal of the WIC program is to decrease the risk of
poor birth outcomes and to improve the health of the
participants during the most important stages of growth and
development.
Mission Statement
The Pennsylvania WIC Program is committed to improving the
health of eligible pregnant women, new mothers, and children
by providing nutrition education, breastfeeding support,
healthy foods, and referrals to health and social programs
during the critical stages of fetal and early childhood
development.
